Bethany College Residential Life is committed to providing quality programs and services that promote personal growth, foster the understanding of human diversity, and encourage academic success. The professional and paraprofessional staff strives to offer a residential living/learning experience that not only supports but enriches your experience and success academically as well as personally. Bethany College is a residential campus. This means that full-time students live on campus and participate in a meal plan. All of Bethany College’s residence halls offer free laundry facilities, WIFI, cable TV in the main lobby, and access to a private movie streaming service. Each room is furnished with a bed, desk, desk chair, drawers, and closet or wardrobe. Resident Assistants are on duty every day in each hall and accessible by telephone to aid residents.
Campus Housing Residence Halls are available for the months of June and July. Groups must reserve a minimum of 20 beds. Single and double rooms are available in the suite-style residence halls and single rooms are available in the apartment-style housing and New Hall. All campus housing is air conditioned.
Alma Swensson Hall is a three story, suite style residence hall. Built in 1949 but completely remodeled in 2018, Alma Swensson offers new appliances and furniture, large windows, high ceilings, elevator, and accessible bathrooms. All rooms have their own private bathrooms and accommodate two, three, and four people per room.
Alma Swensson Hall was dedicated on May 30, 1949. It was occupied for the first time in September 1949, housing 77 female students. The Women’s Missionary Society of the Augustana Lutheran Church provided the initiative for the project by a grant of $5,000 as a memorial to Mrs. Alma Swensson, wife of Bethany’s founder and a distinguished leader of the national women’s society.
New Hall is a three story, suite style residence hall built in 2015. New Hall is unique in that each suite has private bedrooms. Also in each suite is a shared bathroom and common space. Suites are built to accommodate one, two, four, six, and ten people. New Hall offers accessible rooms and bathrooms and many lobbies and study spaces.
Swede Suites is the only apartment-style housing complex on campus. It is reserved for upperclassmen (sophomores and above) but exceptions can be made for first year students with food allergies. Each apartment offers a kitchen, living room, laundry room, four bedrooms, and two bathrooms. Second and third floor apartments have a small balcony.
